About This Role
Jane Isis seeks a Senior Cloud Specialist to lead transformative cloud initiatives. You’ll architect the cloud foundations that power digital transformation, enabling our clients to compete and win in the cloud-first economy.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Cloud Specialist at Jane Isis, you’ll tackle the most complex cloud challenges facing modern enterprises. You might spend one quarter migrating a global bank’s trading platform to AWS, handling millions of transactions per second with zero downtime. The next, you could be architecting a multi-cloud strategy for a pharmaceutical company, balancing workloads across Azure, GCP, and on-premises data centers while maintaining HIPAA compliance and supporting drug discovery workloads requiring massive computational power.
Your projects will span the full spectrum of cloud computing:
- Large-Scale Migrations: Lead “lift and shift” of 5,000+ applications, replatforming legacy systems, and refactoring monoliths into cloud-native architectures
- Cost Optimization: Reduce cloud spend by millions through reserved instances, spot fleet optimization, and architectural improvements
- Hybrid Architectures: Design solutions that seamlessly integrate on-premises infrastructure with multiple public clouds
- Edge Computing: Deploy distributed cloud solutions supporting IoT devices, retail locations, and manufacturing facilities
- Disaster Recovery: Architect global failover strategies for systems that can’t afford even seconds of downtime
The Technical Excellence We Demand
This role requires mastery across the entire cloud ecosystem. You’ll work with:
- Compute at Scale: Orchestrating thousands of containers, managing serverless functions processing billions of events, and optimizing VM fleets across regions
- Data Platforms: Building data lakes storing petabytes, real-time streaming pipelines, and analytics platforms supporting thousands of concurrent users
- Networking: Designing global network architectures with sub-millisecond latency, implementing zero-trust security models, and managing complex hybrid connectivity
- Automation: Creating IaC templates that deploy entire environments in minutes, building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure, and implementing GitOps workflows
- Security & Compliance: Implementing defense-in-depth strategies, managing encryption at rest and in transit, and ensuring compliance with regulations across multiple jurisdictions
Your Impact
Your cloud architectures will become the foundation for digital transformation. You’ll help:
- Retailers scale from thousands to millions of customers during peak events
- Financial institutions process transactions worth trillions with military-grade security
- Healthcare providers analyze genomic data to accelerate drug discovery
- Manufacturers implement Industry 4.0 with edge computing and IoT
- Media companies stream content to billions of users globally
Your decisions will influence technology strategies worth hundreds of millions, affecting how entire industries leverage cloud computing for competitive advantage.
Collaboration & Leadership
You’ll work alongside:
- Former principal engineers from AWS, Microsoft, and Google
- Cloud architects who’ve designed systems for Netflix, Uber, and Airbnb
- Security experts who’ve protected infrastructure for Fortune 100 companies
- FinOps specialists who’ve optimized billions in cloud spend
You’ll also engage directly with:
- CIOs and CTOs defining enterprise cloud strategy
